Following a fire in car park 1 on the biomedical campus on Saturday (13 December), there will be increased demand in our closest car park - car park 2.
It is not yet known when car park 1 will reopen.
Our teams are working hard to keep traffic flowing and parking available to make sure staff, patients and visitors can access our hospital.
- Please use alternative travel arrangements where possible - such as using the park and rides at Trumpington and Babraham Road or other public transport. Two additional Stagecoach buses are expected to run from Trumpington Park and Ride during the morning and evening rush hours to help.
- We are asking our staff to work from home if they can.
- If it is essential for you to park in car park 2, please allow extra time for your journey.
- Please note that parking on site is limited, and spaces cannot be guaranteed.
This will help to protect parking for people who absolutely have to park on site, such as staff who cannot do their job from home and vulnerable or frail patients.
Due to busway works, the Trumpington Park and Ride route is on diversion but still stops at Royal Papworth.
There are a small number of spaces outside our hospital to allow for patients to be dropped-off or picked-up. These have a maximum 30-minute stay limit. We also have six blue badge spaces with a maximum stay of four hours.
Further guidance and other alternative transport options can be found on our getting here page.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this extraordinary situation.
