Dr Matthew Hodson has been appointed as the new chief nurse at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
He will join Royal Papworth Hospital in June from North Middlesex University Hospital - part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust – where he is currently director of nursing.

Matthew replaces Maura Screaton who is retiring after a 40-year career in nursing, which has spanned Ireland, England, Australia and Canada.
A former respiratory nurse consultant, Matthew has more than 25 years of experience in the NHS.
He said: “I am thrilled to be joining Royal Papworth Hospital and I can’t wait to arrive and start meeting people soon.
“I take great pride in being a nurse and the difference the profession makes to people’s lives every day, often in their most vulnerable moments.
“When I am not at work, I spend my time quality time with my young daughter, walking my sausage dog, socialising with friends, and spinning!”

Maura first joined Royal Papworth in 1997 as part of the critical care team and became our chief nurse in 2021.
She said: “I have had a wonderful career as a nurse much of which has been spent in different roles at Royal Papworth. I am excited about the next phase of life for me but also sad to be leaving nursing and such wonderful colleagues.”
