National collaboration delivers first lung transplant through ARCs programme
20 August 2026A pair of donor lungs, donated at a hospital in the north of England, were transported to Royal Papworth for assessment and perfusion. Once confirmed as suitable for transplant, the lungs were transported on to Birmingham, enabling a lifesaving transplant.
