You can request evidence/literature searches of the healthcare databases to inform patient care, clinical and management decision-making, research and service development.

Our current lead time is 2 to 3 weeks. Please submit your request early to avoid dissapointment. This does not apply to urgent requests for patient care.

How do we use your data?

How can I see the data you hold on me?
You may request a copy of the literature search data that we have recorded by emailing papworth.library@nhs.net. We will respond within 7 working days.

How long will you keep my data?
We will keep your data for the length of your library membership which will end when you leave the Trust. We will keep data about library service usage for as long as is necessary to submit statistics to Health Education England, to compile our annual report and to monitor and improve the literature search service.

The Library service has a legal basis for processing your data, as we cannot provide the service without the processing mentioned.

Can I ask for my data to be deleted?
Yes, you have the right to ask to be forgotten.

Your literature search request
If you would like us to remove identifiable data from our record of literature searches, please email papworth.library@nhs.net and we will delete your personal information within 7 working days of receipt of your request.

Sharing your data
Your data will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Legislation 2018 on the shared NHS library management system to which this library contributes and KnowledgeShare. Your information may be accessible to library staff at other NHS and partner organisations within the shared library management consortium to enable loans of other libraries' materials. Your data will not be shared with any other third party.

How is this request recorded?

A record of this search request is recorded by the library staff for (but not limited to): re-running the search at a future date, training and statistical purposes. Data regarding the number and frequency of search requests is submitted annually to Health Education England. Non-identifiable data pertaining to this search may be used in the library’s annual report and for other service-related activities including marketing, promotion and service improvement.
