The SPORT Participant Session previously scheduled for 10 June 2026 via Microsoft Teams, as shared in the latest issue of the SPORT Participant Newsletter (Winter 2025-2026), will be postponed to autumn 2026. The new date will be announced soon and further details will be shared.
Although all face-to-face study visits finished in February 2026, the SPORT study is still ongoing, and this online event will be an opportunity to share with participants how the study is progressing and to give other updates.
The meeting will also be recorded (only the speaker and the presentation itself will appear in the recording), and the video will be available on the SPORT webpage.
SPORT Study
Funded by Cancer Research UK, SPORT recruited 850 participants between January 2020 and September 2024 across 13 UK NHS centres. These participants kindly donated blood samples and shared information for the study every six months until February 2026. Our scientific teams are now carefully analysing these samples, and this work will continue over the next few years. We hope to publish the findings and use them to develop new ways to detect cancer at an early stage.
