Dr Ian Smith is the Medical Director of Royal Papworth Hospital and a consultant respiratory physician specialising in sleep medicine.
He has particular responsibility for research and development at the hospital. He has led on the delivery of the Clinical Research Faciliity at the Heart and Lung Research Institute, which is a major collaboration with the University of Cambridge, and years before that oversaw the establishment of the Papworth Clinical Trials Unit.
