Resident doctors from the British Medical Association (BMA) are taking strike action in November.
There will be a full, five-day walk-out by BMA resident doctors from 07:00 on Friday 14 November 2025 to 06:59 on Wednesday 19 November 2025.
We are not planning to cancel appointments, procedures or operations during these five days.
Patient safety will always be our priority - if you have a loved one in hospital during these dates, they will be cared for safely.
Please attend your appointment
If you are booked for an appointment or procedure during this time and we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned.
Choose services wisely
The NHS is asking patients to choose services wisely during industrial action and take simple steps to help ensure care is available to patients who need it most.
This includes using NHS 111 online as the first port of call for health needs and continuing to only call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.
GP practices will be open during the resident doctors strikes. Please continue to attend your GP and dental appointments, unless you are contacted and told otherwise.
Pharmacies will also remain open.
